I want to shorten the drain hose on my GSM1800JBB ...

I want to shorten the drain hose on my GSM1800JBB but the end seems to be a solid piece of rubber glued onto the spiral hose rather than screwed in to the spiral spines on the hose. If i cut the hose, how do i attach it to the nipple on the drain pipe without the rubber end?
