Disposal stopped grinding.except for a hum wheneve...

Disposal stopped grinding.except for a hum whenever the power switch is turned on. There's no indication that it is jammed from any object. The red button near the bottom eas depressed with no changes or improvement. Do I need to call an electrical repairman?
