GE min college dorm fridge from 1991 one door with...

GE min college dorm fridge from 1991 one door with a little freezer section located inside compressor running and cooling very well but does not shut off for very long. Seems like a thermostat issue but unsure and if thermostat is the problem how do I change it. THANKS
