How do we get the freezer door alarm to sound. We ...

How do we get the freezer door alarm to sound. We have it set to on, but it doesn't ever emit an audible sound. We have a GE profile side by side model PSHS6TGXSS. There is not even anything about the Door alarm in the product manual.
