MV1310 two original incandescent 40 watt light bul...

MV1310 two original incandescent 40 watt light bulbs burned out, the ones designed to light the stove top surface below, but when I replaced them with new ones, the socket was dead. Is there a fuse to check? What is a good troubleshooting process for this problem?
