Why won't my blender turn on? I plugged it in, tur...

Why won't my blender turn on? I plugged it in, turned it on and it worked, then i pushed smoothie and it worked for about a second and then turned off and will not turn back on. I have tried relocating to multiple outlets around my house and still no luck.
