Could I integrate an Indesit IDL40 dishwasher in m...

Could I integrate an Indesit IDL40 dishwasher in my fitted kitchen? On reading the installation manual it says you can remove the top of the dishwasher and screw to worktop. If you do this, the dishwasher will go back further under the worktop. Is this to allow the fitting of an integrated door and plinth? Thanks for your help.
