my dishwasher seems to be backing up. it is placed...

my dishwasher seems to be backing up. it is placed next to the sink and is causing my sink to block. I've removed the ubend and that is clear - it can only be my dishwasher. There is also water filling the drainage area and seeping out where you put the salt in. What can this be? I'm at a loss!
