The panel with the clock etc does not operate and therefore the oven can no be used

5 My guess would be for you to check the electrical block in the rear of the oven (range/stove), to check for any burnt wiring. Have you checked the breaker to the oven to make sure it isn't tripped. You can also check that power is getting to the stove terminal block with a circuit tester or electrical meter. If all of these are positive, then the main oven control needs to be replaced, because all power to the stove/oven, go thru the main control.
