0 It needs to be turned off by the power supply. The only way it turns off is when the motor gets too hot and shuts itelf off. I was told to replace the unit as it will be cheaper than getting fixed.

0 My disposal mostly won't turn off after I remove the handle. Really dangerous until I can run down the hall and hit the breaker switch. Can the switch be repaired or cleaned and lubricated--or does the whole unit need to be replaced? This has been going on for over a month.
