i cannot fit a full size dish in my dishwasher...w...

i cannot fit a full size dish in my dishwasher...without the top bar (that is attached to bottom of top rack) that spins hitting the top of the plate. I cannot understand why? It can't possibly be made this way. Model number is w10418342 a
