how do I shut down the TOP coil inside oven? It co...

how do I shut down the TOP coil inside oven? It constantly pops on and i never use it... the oven makes a dinging sound when it happens and whatever is in the oven at the time burns up. We can not shut it down without cutting off the switch on the circuit box...HELP PLEASE!!!!!
