Question About John Lewis Freezer JLFZW 1806
Loss of Temperature...

Temperature alarm came on as it hit -11 (normally set at -19). Full power to Freezer (lights were on on door open etc). Nothing new had been added and door had not been recently opened. Alarm silenced and Fast Freeze selected. Several hours passed and temperature not dropped by any great margin. Appliance located in a 'cold' area not liable to ambient temperature fluctuations.

0 The scenrio described by the previous contributor happened in exactly the same way to us. The temp alarm came on, freezer was at minus 9C, we turned on quick freeze, the temp did not significantly improve over several hours. Freezer not yet 4 yrs old. 22 April 2010. Has anybody had similar experiences??? (Disgruntled of Tower Bridge.)

0 I have had the same experience with mine - compressor runs continually but temp never lowers below 9-11 degrees - I am at point of orderinga new freezer but it seems there is a common problem here with this freezer. Has anyone contacted John Lewis

0 i bought this 2nd hand in july 2010, there is no frost in the freezer but everything inside fine and looks like it stays on all the time and at the back at the bottom thick pipe got ice on it all the time. is it right? thanks

John Lewis said there is nott anything they can do as its 4 yrs old... Sounds like a simular cases a foot. £70 call out charge if we want to be looked at by a freezer techy. any sudjestions would be great as I really do not want to pay out £500 for a new one. 0 Mine too. Engineer just been. Think it's the compressor but not 100% sure as it was OK when he was here. Didn't do much, but charged us £60. When we spoke to JL they weren't interested as it is almost 5 yrs old and out of warranty. Said if it was an inherent fault it would have been recalled. Sounds like an inherent fault to me! Cost of a new compressor nearly same as we paid for freezer. Surely if this is a regular fault JL should be looking into it?

0 I have exactly the same problem with the same model. Not what you expect from a John Lewis Product at all.
