excessive ice build up in bottom of freezer

0 This happened to me too.  The water was draining into the freezer bottom instead of into the drip pan underneath.
It was that the drain had an ice plug and the line was frozen.
I turned off freezer (unplugged it), emptied it and used a blow dryer to break down ice and free bottom basket (it was frozen solid to the bottom of the freezer).
I took off the back panel on the inside and removed the ice build up on the bottom drain slopes.
I used a turkey baster with hot water to melt the ice covering the drain and continued to pour hot water on it until the line was free and clear (the water went right thru and into the drip pan).
I started up the freezer again and it's been good ever since.
I just have to remember to check it from time to time and not leave the door open!
