Question About Kenmore Freezer FN43F67R
used freezer...

I was given a chest freezer for my handicapped daughter's medications etc and , when I got it home , I plugged it in and all I hear is a little noise from the motor or whatever it is called. The compressor is hot to the touch as is the frezzer after ten hours. Am I fighting a losing battle or could it be something simple? thanks
