Question About Kenmore Microwave Oven 86050
Installation and Removal...

I am attempting to remove an old Kenmore Over the Range Microwave oven. I have loosened the top cabinet bolts and cannot get the front of the unit to drop down so I can lift the back of the unit off the tabs on the back mounting bracket....Are there more screws??

0 I have Kenmore 85050 model, perhaps similar. Removing the bolts that hold the unit to the shelf above is not enough - must also loosen bolts that hold unit to the wall mounted panel at the back - these are accessed by first removing the plastic front grill (3 philips head screws) which reveals the two 'bolts' which present as 1/4" rods with slotted ends, about 1" down from top and 2 1/2" in from either side. I also had to fiddle about with the exhaust fan ducting to allow the unit to tip forward and lift off the rear wall plate - good luck! - Doshu
