5 First, unplug the microwave to prevent electrical shock. Try replacing the bulb. If replacing the bulb does not work then inspect the bulb socket for corrosion or debris that could be preventing the bulb from making good contact. If there is corrosion or debris it can be removed by using a piece of sandpaper or by using a metal bristled brush. If there isn't any corrosion or debris the next thing to check is the switch that turns the light on. You will need a digital multimeter to test this. Disconnect the light bulb power switch and set the meter to ohms. Connect each lead of the meter to each of the little metal pieces that the wires were connected to before you removed the switch. If the meter shows a reading of OL when the switch is in the ON position, the switch is bad and needs to be replaced. I hope this helps! If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.
