5 KENWOOD YM500 Yogurella Yogurt Maker The YM100 Yogurella yogurt maker has an automatic shut-off function timer that will turn off the unit automatically at the end of the cooking cycle. This unit easily produces yogurt using the freshest ingredients without any artificial additive or preservatives. Each jar comes with a screw top lid for easy storage after the yogurt is made. The glass jars are dishwasher safe and easy to clean. Kenwood/Delonghi makes the YM100 under other brands so replacement jars are easy to get. Six individual 6 ounce glass jars with screw on lids for storage. Glass jars are dishwasher safe. Make a different flavor yogurt in each jar. Voltage: 220-240 Volts/ 50 & 60 Hertz Tips and Usage 1.Measure 800ml (five glass jars full) of fresh pasteurised milk(it can be either cream, skimmed or semi-skimmed) and place in a high side saucepan. 2.Heat the milk until it boils and starts to climb the side of the pan. 3.Remove the pan from the heat and allow the milk to cool to body temperature (96 degrees F, 36 degerees C) 4.Once the milk has cooled, pour it into the jug through the sieve. 5.Stir in one glass jar full of natural yogurt (this can either be shop bought, or from a previous batch of home yogurt). 6.Divide the Yogurt and milk mix between the six glass jars supplied with your pruchase. 7.Securely fasten the tops into the jars. 8.Place the glass jars into the yogurt maker and place lid onto the main body of the yogurt maker. 9.Set the hour reminder to the time that the yogurt will be ready. It will take between four and six hours to make yogurt, depending on the type of milk used. Full fat milk will take about four hours to make yogurt. Skimmed milk will take about six hours. The hour reminder will not switch the Yoghurt maker off, it is to remind you when to disconnect the appliance from the power supply. 10.Plug the appliance into the power supply. The indicator light will glow. 11.At the time indicated by the hour reminder, disconnect the yogurt maker from the power supply and remove the lid. 12.Place the jars in a refrigerator to cool. Once cool, the yogurt can be eaten. Serve it either on its own or with fruit. If desired, the yogurt can be sweetened with sugar, honey or artificial sweetener
