0 My dough blade looks just like the metal blade except plastic and almost as sharp. So I suppose that the metal blade would work just a well. If you have the manual, what is the funny looking cover with the center hole? Looks like an olive oil dispenser? Food won't go into the hole, it has a guard accross it.
