On both drawers there is a round cover that covers...

On both drawers there is a round cover that covers a small white sponge. It is located on the back side of the front draws. We found the cover in the dishwasher for the top draw. We can't seem to get it back on. What is the trick to do this. We have the white sponge that goes behind it but we can't get it on. Any help will be appreciated.
