My disposal with switch in the drain will not easily shut off. I need to jiggle the in drain switch handle numerous times inorder for it to shut off. Is this a simple fix, or do I need a repair person to fix or replace unit? We have no wall switch to turn off unit and I'm afraid someone will get hurt as unit continues to spin when drain is removed.

0 Finally called repair; he said it looked like "steel wool" -- or something -- was caught in the mechanism, preventing it from shutting off. He couldn't remove whatever it was, and did end up replacing unit under warranty.
