Beep sound coming from the upper section (where the compressor/control board are) along with a click noise from a relay. This can be every few minutes or not at all for hours. We noticed the freezer fan stops working (and comes back on), the blue lights at the control panel inside the refrigerator section (On/Off switch light, temp. display lights) are turning on and off. We noticed no apparent relation to the compressor running or not, happening either way, when the compressor is on or not.

0 Seems like the problem was not that much related to the cooling system - it was actually power supply related. I noticed on one of the main board (the one on the left hand side) a electrolytic capacitor which seemed to be little bit "fat" on top. I started heating and cooling it and basically the problem was going away or getting worse. So I took the board out and I saw that the cap was 220muF/35V and was supplying the voltage to all the micro-relays from that board. I took it out and , indeed, was bad, I replaced it and the unit works just fine now. Thanks all for your inputs though! And I think is worth always keeping in mind that all these units do have a lot of electronic stuff on them and such simple power supply issues can produce strange and crazy symptoms - like the ones I had.
