Kitchenaid Ref. Model KFCS22EVMS is making a noise...

Kitchenaid Ref. Model KFCS22EVMS is making a noise like a gear is slipping in the upper part of the ref. in the damper box. Is this normal or should I have this looked at? the ref. is only 18 months old.
