The ice maker stopped working. There is a red light flashing by the icemaker on/off switch. What do I need to do?

0 my refrigerator also have the red light on and wasn"t making ice what I did was disconnected( until the ice in the little compartment were the black little hose is this is the hose that bring the water to make the ice) heped a bit with hot water and when melted connected back and a few hours later was making ice
