We have a Kitchenaid trash compactor which was installed when we built our home in 1986. It has worked beautifully until last night when I dumped a bunch of paper in the compactor. It did not compact and the motor makes a whirring sound. the drawer will not open and the front of it looks crooked! What should I do? The service charge is $129.99 plus parts, but I do not want to invest alot of money in a new compactor right now. Any suggestions?
