Put a mixture of white vinegar and water, run it through a complete cycle. I would then run the cycle again using distilled water. He never had to do it twice but if the scale is heavy I woud do it twice and then do the distilled water procedure. Don't forget to do the rinse. The white vinegar to water ratio should be1/2 cup of vinegar to 4 cups of coffee. If you smell the oder of vinegar it means you have added just enough vinegar. For very heavy scaling use more vinegar.
