I have the FME4 model. The spring operated opening...

I have the FME4 model. The spring operated opening where the coffe comes out of the cone and into the pot is not working. I see that there is a spring and a little rubber gasket. I've tried several different ways, but can't get them put back in so that it works. Could you help?
