how do i clean the knobs on my krups tt930050 two ...

how do i clean the knobs on my krups tt930050 two slice toaster? They're all sticky. Tried dish detergent, baking soda, window cleaner, lighter fluid...some stuff comes off, but not all. Collects lint from paper towel, looks and feels gross. Thanks.
