leaking water and ice in the bottom of the freezer

5 Mine did the same. What you need to do is defrost it. I know its a frost free freezer but over time the drain holes fill up. I stored my food at a mates house. Then switched it off for 24 hrs and left the doors open on both the fridge and freezer. I also removed all internal drawers and removed the white plastic back on the inside of the freezer to speed up the defrost. Make sure you keep a towel in the bottom of the freezer and keep changing it regularly. Once this whole process is complete, your freezer will be back to normal again. You will have to repeat the process when ice starts to reform at the bottom (every couple of years).

2 Our LG worked fine for several years but recently the bottom of the freezer seems to be filling with water and freezes once the shallow depth of the bottom is filled with a layer of ice then water leaks on the floor. It doesn't look like the water supply to the the ice maker is leaking but I am not 100% sure. I don't want to call a service company if it is a simple fix. Any ideas?
