5 The touch pad is broken. Over time these parts go out. Depending on the microwave you can sometimes get a new part for this. If it's worth it to look into repair (if the microwave is sized for a specific area or any other reason you'd like to repair it) you could do a google search appliance parts depot or any similar business and try to find a new touch pad. Have your make and model ready. Even the microwaves serial number would be good to have written down. Hope this helps. Ps; it could be just that the ribbon to the touch pad is loose.
