The small stone like supports for the heat element...

The small stone like supports for the heat element have broken in two or totally dissolved over the years. The salesperson told us we could not use the time savor feature as they act as an insulators for the microwaves. Can we use another type of insulator or do we need to buy the entire element for the oven?
