mini fridge...

Magic Chef Mini fridge stopped working. I hear nothing,not a hum is there a reset button somewhere?

3 But the consumer is responsible for all labor and transportation expenses related to the diagnosis and replacement of the compressor after the initial one- year warranty has expired. If in the event the unit requires replacement or refund under the terms of this warranty the consumer is responsible for all transportation expenses to return the unit to our factory prior to receiving a replacement unit or refund.

0 I have the same problem with mine. My daughter said that one of her friends has the same exact fridge that did the same thing, just quit working. The friend sent the fridge back to magic chef and they sent her a brand new one. Don't know any specifics, how old hers was, if she had the receipt, who paid for the shipping, but I will be calling Magic Chef in the morning. I'll let you know what happens.

0 So, this is what I found out. Magic Chef in MI, said to call MC Appliance @ 888-775-0202, cuz it’s more than 1yr old. Was informed I have to have it fixed myself. Called a repair center, was told it would be cheaper to buy a new one, cuz just the labor would be $120.00, excluding parts. Went to Home Depot to buy a new one, discovered there’s a 5yr warranty on the compressor. Called MC Appliance back, put on terminal hold. Went to www.mcappliance.com and indeed the compressor has a 5yr warranty.

0 Lowe's has a 3.3c.f. stainless steel Frigidaire for 119.99 and Wal-Mart has a GE 4.3c.f. in black for 125.00. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. I'm off to Wal-Mart.
