I have serviced an older model Manitowic ice machi...

I have serviced an older model Manitowic ice machine, after cleaning it inside it ran and harvest almost half a bin but shut down due to being either to thick or too thin. Do I have to tweak it to be the right exact thickness since its an older machine?
