I have dishwasher model MDBH979SAM I am unable to...

I have dishwasher model MDBH979SAM I am unable to start my dishwasher. I noticed that the lock buotton keeps falshing, and does not allow me to choose another button. I can cancel the lock button but it just appears again. I do not have a users manual, as I think the person that installed the unit accidently threw it away. Can you help me????
