my maytag dishwasher model #mdbtt59aws is not clea...

my maytag dishwasher model #mdbtt59aws is not cleaning properly. it is leaving a residue on the glasses and cups on the top rack. there also seems to be a problem with drainage. could the filter need cleaning and if so where is the filter located?
