my maytag load sensing dishwasher says the load is...

my maytag load sensing dishwasher says the load is clean but it is not. with any of the wash cycles selected I push the start button, it blinks twice and goes off. the clean light continually blinks 8 times, goes out then comes on a blinks 8 times again.
