5 this is a door latch error look down the page towards the middle here is an error code link chart http://www.appliancetimers.com/index.php?page=failure_code_page&manufacturer=maytag&type=r possible fix To reset door latch, press "cancel" to clear F9 code. Depress and hold oven door light switch (plunger style on door frame). Latch should reset. or If you were able to manually unlock the door and now have the F9 fail code. You can try unplugging the power cord or turn off the breaker for a few minutes and power it up again. Program a self clean cycle and cancel the selection after a few minutes. The control board constantly looks for a proper circuit on the latch switch and will usually run the motor until it finds the proper circuit.
