my dishwasher has a white film on my clean dishes,...

my dishwasher has a white film on my clean dishes, why is that? Also should my salt compartment have water in it?

3 Dishwasher is not working. all the wash/dry/end lights are orange. It starts, hear water filling, then motor running, then lights come on and it stops.
