When I turn on the dishwasher (any cycle) it works...

When I turn on the dishwasher (any cycle) it works for about 3-4 mins, then a loud beeping starts and all 6 program lights begin to flash, and the dishwasher stops working. I have checked the drain, washer arms, and water outlets, and everything seems to be working properly. What can I do to fix this problem?
