5 Pour 20 ounces (4 cups as measured in the carafe) of undiluted white vinegar into an empty, washed, Mr.Coffee machine. Put in a fresh paper filter if you don’t have a permanent filter. Press the start button two or three times until the red CLEAN light stays on and the green and yellow brew lights are NOT on. (cont.)

5 Clean the carafe, replace the paper filter if you use one, and run a full pot of clean water through the machine on a regular BREW cycle (WITHOUT any coffee grounds). Dump the water once it has all pumped through. Repeat, running another full carafe of plain water with a fresh filter.

5 The plain water cycles will complete in just a few minutes each. Wash the carafe and clean/replace the filter and you are ready to start brewing coffee. If the CLEAN light did not stay off after the initial CLEAN cycle finished, unplug Mr.Coffee for one minute and then plug it back in.

5 sorry...that's a typo in the comment title that says "part 4". It's really "part 3". None of the instructions are missing.

5 Mr.Coffee will start heating and pump the vinegar through the machine. After 3 CUPS of vinegar pump through, the cycle will pause for 30 minutes and the vinegar will sit in the guts of the machine. After 30 minutes, the CLEAN cycle will finish pumping the last of the vinegar and Mr.Coffee will turn off.
