Question About Mr. Coffee Coffeemaker ECMP50
Mr.Coffee ECMP50...

The machine will not turn on, the red light starts solid as the green ready light blinks, after 5 sec, the red light blinks as well. Any idea what is going on?

5 Unfortunately, I figured out this problem. The sensor switch for the off position is bad. Notice that when the unit worked, the power and ready light would flash when if right hand knob was not in the off position when the unit was turned on? its doing the same thing on the broken unit because the processor chip cannot detect the unit is in the off position. Time for a new unit.

0 Unfortunately, this must be one of those quirks they decided to add to their manual rather than fix. It says to "reset" the coffee maker when that happens ... almost every time. You just shut it off, wait for the lights to go out and turn it back on. Two other things worried me. The big one was discharging the pressurized water/steam under the tray after foaming milk. The little one was the different noises involved with foaming milk and extracting coffee from the grounds. Good luck.
