Upon trying to heat something up, I closed the ove...

Upon trying to heat something up, I closed the oven door and before even pressing a specific time, the oven just starts running. (like it's on defrost) The only way I could stop it from running is by either leaving the door ajar or unplugging it. When I plug it back in, the same thing happens...it just runs. Does anyone know what's wrong?
