Was given a Harvest Maid FD-50 dehydrator, and it works, but I've no idea what to do with it, or even what it can do.

3 Very nice food dehydrator... had ours 15+ years now... Place thinly sliced food (we do mostly fruit and raw marinated beef) and set the dehyrator on 145 degrees (never used anything else) and rotate the trays every hour or two while the food is drying. You can sprinkle sugar or other flavoring in fruit to make it almost like candy...We make teriyaki beef jerky every month or two... takes 2 to 8 hours to dry stuff depending on thickness and what it is, and the dried stuff will last in the fridge for over a month... sorry we don't still have the manual... you can buy extra trays to do more... ours will work fine drying 6 trays at once (we rotate them if using more than 2 about every hour because the dryer works best on the bottom trays)... hope that helps! ~Ed~
