All of a sudden my igniters on the burners keep sp...

All of a sudden my igniters on the burners keep sparking even when the gas is off. I unplugged the electrical cord and plugged it back in but it still continued to spark at burner. What do I do to stop it? It is very annoying and I am sure at some point the igniters will burn out!
