my 1361 hand blender isn't working properly just n...

my 1361 hand blender isn't working properly just now - electrically, it's fine, but the cutting rod falls out when I'm using it. Is there anything you can suggest that I do to counteract this, or does it appear that some part is missing or faulty? Thanks for your help. Sheila
