The easiest way to cook white rice is put 2 cups of white rice in the rice bowl plus a little salt, 2 cups water in the rice bowl and 2 cups of rice in the bottom reservoir, replace the lid and plug in. When the light goes off, it's done. Fluff and serve.

5 Yes - that was two cups of water in the bottom reservoir, 2 cups of rice and 2 cups of water in the rice bowl. Sorry - I shouldn't write tips after being awake 26 hours!

5 No. These are the directions that were written for this steamer. The water in the lower reservoir adds to the total liquid so the balance comes out right. I've used this steamer hundreds of times and the recipe always comes out right. (However, my favorite recipe they have is for Boston Brown Bread. Yum!)

5 If you don't have the rival steamer, you can put it into a pan or coffee can - coffee can will take longer - both with loose cover and steam until a toothpick comes out clean, approximately 45-50 mins. It's YUMMY!

5 For regular brown rice, use 1/2 cup brown rice and 1 cup water in the rice bowl, 3 cups water in the reservoir. For parboiled brown rice, use 1 cup rice, 1.5 cups water in the rice bowl, 3 cups rice in the reservoir.

0 Combine dry ingred. Add remaining ingred. & beat well. Pour into greased & floured rice bowl. Cover bowl with aluminum foil. Put on lid & steam. Water in reservoir: 3 c. Time: 45-50 mins. If not done, add 1 c. water & continue to steam. (19-22 mins. more). More tender than canned brown bread, and good warm or cold (breakfast with cream cheese?).
