my side by side refrigerator is on, but not cooling. How do I fix this?

5 It could be the adaptive defrost board since everything runs through it. You have to do more troubleshooting. When it starts melting is the compressor turned off, is the condenser/compressor fan turned off. If the compressor shuts off but it's fan is running then you have a compressor problem as it is wired in parallel with the condenser fan. Check that the compressor is not overheating and tripping it's thermal protect. Also is the evaporator fan shut off, if all three are off this is an indication that the unit may have gone into a defrost cycle.
