0 The countdown timer on my Salton PC-1048 Pressure cooker will not work. The first meal I cooked and the rice burned. Did I do something wrong? I made the chicken & rice recipe and set it for 7 high. Steam blew out of the pressure release valve, and the lid locked, but the timer never counted down.

0 sounds lie you had the valve set to steam not pressure
