What is the pre-heat time for a Samsung oven BT621...

What is the pre-heat time for a Samsung oven BT621? I assumed the oven sounded an alarm when up to temperature, but I have just been told by a service mechanic that this should be ignored, and that you must allow 40 minutes for pre-heating. This is a nonsense!!
