0 To operate the oven you need to have the timer control set correctly. If nothing else I use the left knob under the clock (no pressing, just turn it) to display the red hand symbol then use the right knob (press it in this time while turning) to set the start time to match the current time. The oven functions should now go. The rings on the stove top do not need the timer, they just go as soon as I turn them on regardless of the oven timer settings. 0 Sorry, I'm using the 3U603W Range Oven and have only been able to find the 2U604W manual, I hope my previous comment still helps you with the 3U609W, a lot of these ovens appear to be similar.
